for Children and Adolescents Mental Health Disorders
NEST CAMHS is a child and adolescent mental health clinic. We are an online portal for providing consultations for children, adolescents and young people (3 to 25yrs) struggling with mental health issues. We aim is to provide assessment and treatment planning for children and adolescents struggling with Neurodevelopmental problems (ADHD, Autism), Core mental health disorders (depression/ anxiety/ Obsessive Compulsive Disorders/Post-traumatic Stress Disorders), Intellectual Disability (ID), Learning Disability, Gender Dysphoria, and Eating Disorders.
We know that nurturing means more than giving your child food, shelter, and clothing. It is about building a healthy and strong emotional relationship (attachment) between you and your child. Hence we aim to explore a child's thoughts, feelings, communications, behaviours, and interpersonal exchanges with their significant adults and peer relationships. The goal is to provide young people with support for their innermost fears and insecurities and provide an opportunity to build trusted attachments and relationships in life.
Being a child mental health professional, it is interesting to answer the question 'Do children have mental health issues? What do they have to stress about?''!
From NHS Digital (2021) report; one in six children aged five to 16 were identified as having a probable mental health problem in July 2021. That’s five children in every classroom! This is ever-growing and young people need their problems to be heard. We want to give young people an opportunity to have a non-judgmental, supportive discussion about the unbearable stress and worries and aim to provide timely intervention to prevent grave consequences.
"Family is not an important thing. It's everything." - Michael J. Fox
